Dividing cells from the liquid endosperm of the lily Haemanthus katherinae were fixed with paraformaldehye, embedded in epoxy, 0.5 micrometer sections prepared, and stained with uranyl magnesium acetate. Images were obtained with the Wisconsin high voltage TEM at 1MEV. For this low magnification survey micrograph of chromosomes at anaphase, the grid was tilted to 40 degrees. Similar micrographs tilted to 30 and 60 degrees are grouped with this image, providing oblique 3D views when used as stereo pairs.
